 New Minimum Wage Rates 17 August 2006 The Government has announced an increase to the National Minimum Wage rates, which will take place from 1 October 2006: - Main rate for workers aged 22 and over £5.35 ( from £5.05 ) - Development rate for workers aged 18 to 21 inclusive £4.45 ( from £4.25 ) - New rate for 16 and 17 year olds ( except apprentices) £3.30 ( from £3.00 ) |
